Cash For Arms Review Highlights
Mark Gregory | Very fair and efficient company to work with. Just follow their clearly written and simple directions to submit your firearm that you are selling. You will receive a prompt, fair offer, shipping labels if you accept the offer and payment method of your choice when they receive it. My expectations were exceeded because what I thought would take a week took only 2 days! Highly recommend for those wanting an easy and legal way to liquidate unused or used firearms quickly.
Sean Gentry | I must say I was a little skeptical at first because the process sounded so easy but it went exactly as promised. Luckily I had the original box and slapped the FedEx label on it that they provided and dropped it at FedEx. Got my money the day after it was delivered. Got a fare price and did not have to deal with somebody trying to heckle me over the price. No worrying about a transaction going bad in a parking lot. Great experience. They were even replying to my emails after hours which I've never experienced before. Will be using Cash for Arms a lot more…
Eric Whitacre | First and foremost, Cash for Arms gave me an offer that completely blows the competition out of the water. I knew I was going with them immediately. Regardless, they still proceeded to give excellent customer service. Complete with great communication, respect for my time, and putting me first throughout the entire process. If you are selling a firearm and don't have the time or skills to go through it yourself Cash for Arms is the best. Without question.
2. Central Texas Gun Works
Central Texas Gun Works is more often referred to as CTGW. This Austin gun store purchases used guns. It’s also a range and even offers a breakfast-and-range package (with tacos!) for visitors to its shooting facilities.
Aside from that, they offer services like $35 gun transfers and classes for handgun carry license preparation. Note that while the latter has an online option, it also has to be followed by a range-only component.

Customer Reviews and Experiences
Jeshuran Paul | Attended here today for the basic firearm safety course. Michael Carhill started it out explaining the laws behind gun ownership and was very helpful in explaining stuff if we had any doubts. They then took us out to the range (like 18 miles away), and let us shoot 4 guns! (2 handguns, a shotgun and an AR-15). Their firearm instructors seemed very knowledgeable and welcoming. They made sure everyone was following proper safety. Excellent experience all in all. 10/10 would recommend.
John Lockhart | Took the beginner shooting lesson with my son. Great experience. Excellent value for the price. Instructors you trust who took care to provide detailed knowledge and training. Far better then a 150 session with minimal instruction at any other range.
A Porat | I’ve used Central Texas Gun Works since 2020 for almost all my purchases and gun transfers. FFL transfers are affordable and quick. They have a good inventory at the store and in their online store. Matt was a great help with everything!
3. McBride’s Guns Inc.
McBride’s has been selling sporting gear since the 60’s and has stayed a family-owned-and-operated shop in all that time. It offers both gunsmithing and standard gun shop services.
The store offers both firearm appraisals and used firearm purchasing as well. If you’re only selling to find a replacement, you may be interested in their trade-in programs. They also have a coin shop!

Customer Reviews and Experiences
Scott Solomon | The best gun and coin shop in Austin. I've been coming here for almost 10 years, and I've never been disappointed with the unique guns of all types. The staff are more than helpful and never try to over sell. I truly trust these guys. Thank you Mr. McBride for keeping up such a tight ship.
James Alexander | Had a really good experience here today. As far as I’m concerned, they have earned my business for life. Went in to purchase a rifle for a non-profit auction. Mr McBride could not have been more helpful and caring. He sold the rifle to us at cost for the good of the non profit. The sales associate was excellent with recommendations for the right rifle. This is old school Austin.
Todd Van Horne | Been going in to buy/sell guns and coins since 1999. It's just as much a part of Austin as the Spoke or Dirty's. Love this place. If you gave them a bad review, they probably didn't like the look/sound of you. (Selling them coins got me through college!)
4. The Range at Austin
The Range at Austin is obviously best-known as a shooting range, but aside from that, it actually has a gun shop within its facility. The gun shop offers both new and used firearms.
When selling to The Range, you’re basically selling to its retail partner, which is Collector Firearms. It does fair deals on a lot of guns and even has a section where you can also find guns from movies or the wars. If you have a similarly interesting gun, you’re likely to be able to sell here.

Customer Reviews and Experiences
Savannah Gongora | Rick was our instructor and he was so nice and knowledgeable! Everyone who worked there at the store portion were very sweet and took time to educate us on what everything was, and how different parts worked. It was our first time at a range for our anniversary, and it was a great experience. Worth it 100% we loved it!
Daniel Villanueva | Originally I went to buy a cigar humidifier, and I bought it, after that I decided to rent some guns, for me and my kid. The experience was awesome, personal is very kindly and professional, definitely recommend. I’ll back soon. Thanks for all guys!
Zach Chambers | I recently visited the range to take a course focused on handgun safety and best practices. Although I had prior experience handling firearms, I wanted to deepen my understanding. Garrett, the trainer, was great. His expertise in weapon safety and security was evident throughout the session. He also provided excellent recommendations on firearm ownership. I highly recommend this location, especially for newcomers, as the trainers are truly best in class.
