Where to Sell Guns Legally in Pueblo

Cash for Arms
You can sell guns online to a federally licensed dealer or FFL like Cash for Arms. We operate in all 50 states and offer an easy, legal sale in just three steps.
Sell to us if you want the best market offers, a straightforward sale, and top-rated support. We offer flexible and same-day payment options and free insured shipping all over Colorado.
Local Gun Dealers
Local gun dealers like Curran Firearms and Silver Gun Sports on Santa Fe Drive are also safe, legal options. Even franchises like Sportsman’s Warehouse at North Elizabeth Street sometimes buy used guns.
Some pawn shops do too, like EZPAWN and First Cash Pawn at Northern Avenue. Just know that selling to them often means the least profit as they don’t pay much for used guns.
Private Parties
Private gun sales to non-dealers are legal in Pueblo, Colorado. They have to be Colorado residents and eligible to possess guns (which we’ll explain later).
Private buyers can pay more than local shops but demand much more footwork and time. With them, you have to do a lot of the work to ensure a legal sale yourself.
You also have to find them first. Try a Pueblo gun range like Pueblo Municipal Shooters, Inc. at Nuckolls Ave, next to the Pueblo Zoo. Gun clubs in the city and nearby ones like Colorado Springs are options too, as is a Pueblo gun show like the Tanner Gun Show.

Buyer Age
Gun buyers in Pueblo must be at least 21 years old. It used to be 18 for long guns, but this was changed by SB 23-169.
Buyer ID
Gun buyers in Pueblo need to show ID that’s been issued by Colorado to prove they’re residents of the state. A driver’s license is a common choice.
Buyer Prohibitions
Gun buyers in Pueblo should not have any of the disqualifying conditions listed by the Colorado Revised Statutes or the Gun Control Act. The full list is here.
Buyer Background Check
Pueblo gun buyers need to pass a background check by the Colorado Bureau of Investigation or CBI. The only exceptions are listed in CRS 18-12-112 (6) and include antique gun sales.
This applies to private gun sales as well. Private sellers need to go to a local FFL or licensed dealer with their buyers and pay the FFL to start the background check for their sale.
Sale Waiting Period
Gun sales in Colorado have to observe a three-day waiting period because of HB 23-1219. This means buyers can only collect their gun three days after the sale.
Prohibitions
Aside from the items prohibited by federal laws like the NFA, Colorado also prohibits the sale of these:
- Large-capacity magazines that accept more than 15 bullets (CRS 18-12-302).
- Ghost guns or guns and gun parts without serial numbers (SB 23-279).
