Value Factor 2: Beretta M9 Models or Variants
There have been many versions of the M9, including several revisions of the base design. Some of these have different values.
Beretta M9 Value

The average used Beretta M9 is worth $170 to $400. A new M9 sells for $600 at retail.
The base version of the gun. Designed to hold 10 to 15 rounds, and fitted with a 4.9” barrel, this full-size pistol sports a squared-off trigger guard and a Bruniton finish.
There’s also an M9 LE version sold only to certain qualified professionals, including law enforcement officers. It comes at a slight discount compared to the regular M9 and also ships out with three instead of two mags. Other than that, it’s the same gun.
Beretta M9A1 Value

The average used Beretta M9A1 is worth $180 to $430. A new Beretta M9A1 sells for $700 at retail.
The M9A1 was an update of the M9 released in 2006. Aside from a new front design and backstrap checkering, the M9A1 pistols have a Picatinny rail and PVD-coated magazines.
Beretta M9A3 Value

The average used Beretta M9A3 is worth $300 to $750. A new Beretta M9A3 sells for $1,000 at retail.
The Beretta M9A3 was introduced in 2015. It comes in 10-round and 17-round variants, has a Picatinny rail, and offers a multi-colored finish. Black ones were only made for a short time and are rarer, so expect to sell an M9A3 faster if it’s black.
Among the improvements to the gun are the thinner grip, removable grip, removable sights, and option to use either the decocker-safety or decocker-only mode.
Before you ask, why'd we go straight to the M9A3 and skip the M9A2? Because the M9A2 doesn’t exist as a production variant. Beretta never went ahead with manufacturing it.
Beretta M9A4 Value

The average used Beretta M9A4 is worth $400 to $800. A new Beretta M9A4 sells for $1,100 at retail.
The M9A4 offers 10-round, 15-round, and 18-round magazines. It comes with texturized Vertec-style grips, is decocker only, and has dovetailed tritium night sights. Most importantly, the slide is optics-ready.
Beretta M9 22 Value

The average used Beretta M9 22 is worth $120 to $300. A new Beretta M9 22 sells for $450 at retail.
This is the rimfire version of the M9. Aside from being chambered for .22 LR, it offers the same features as the regular M9 pistol.
Beretta M9 Special Edition Value

The average used Beretta M9 Special Edition is worth $400 to $1,300.
This is a limited edition bundle that Beretta produced as an exact copy of the military-issued version. It comes with an army-issue belt, holster, and mag pouch.
Beretta M9-92FS “The First Decade 1985-1995” Value

Beretta M9 25th Anniversary Limited Edition Value

The average used Beretta M9 25th Anniversary is worth $350 to $850.
A model released in 2010 to mark the 25th anniversary of the brand’s association with the US military. It has military-style markings similar to the Armed Forces ones.
Beretta M9 30th Anniversary Edition Value

Value Factor 3: Accessories or Upgrades

You can sometimes boost the value of your used M9 by selling it with accessories. Great-condition ones from known manufacturers are most likely to find takers.
Remember that it’s always up to the buyer, however. If you can’t find anyone to sell your Beretta M9 and accessories to, contact us. We often take accessories and even ammo!
Original Box and Papers
The M9 typically ships in a plastic box with a handle. If yours is in superb condition and all the papers are intact, consider including them in the package when you sell your gun.
Value: Around $10 to $25 for the matching box and papers. More for the presentation boxes that ship with commemorative editions.
Optics/Red Dot Sights
Probably only relevant if you have an M9A4 to sell (unless you had a different variant’s slide cut, of course). RMR, Delta Point, and similar items are most likely to get bites.
Value: Around 30% to 50% of the accessory’s original cost.
Spare Magazines
Often appreciated by shooters. If you have more than the two that most versions of the gun ships with, offer them!
Value: Around $10 to $15 per mag.
