Current Value of an MPA Defender
How much is an MPA Defender today? The average used MPA Defender is worth $210 to $440, though prices vary. The highest-value variants are the MPA30DMG 9mm and the MPA57DMG 5.7. The lower end of the gun’s used price range is often for the MPA30T variant. That’s the most affordable version Masterpiece Arms makes, and is 28% cheaper than the highest-end ones even at retail (brand-new, $540 vs. $750).

What Affects the Value of an MPA Defender for Sale?
MPA Defender price is affected by its condition, variant, and upgrades.

Price Factor 1: Condition
Like most other guns, Defenders sell best when they show less signs of wear. To get an accurate value for yours based on this, get it professionally appraised. We can do it for free!
But if you want to try appraising it yourself first, use these condition tiers and their values:
New or Mint
In this state, it’s never been modified or even used. It’s basically lived in its box ever since purchase. These Defenders can bring in as much as 90% of MSRP.
Excellent
These have almost never been used and it shows, because they’re nearly perfect. These Defenders can bring in as much as 80% of MSRP.
Very Good
These have been fired but only rarely, to the point where you can nearly count the wear and handling marks on the gun. Sell these for up to 70% of MSRP.
Good
These have been used regularly but they’ve been pampered by their owners too. Stored well, cleaned often, and kept in good shape, they bring in up to 60% of MSRP.
Fair
These have been used regularly too but are beat up and not cared for. They should still generally function, however. Sell these for up to 50% of MSRP.
Poor
These are the worst cases, usually defective or even outright broken. A Defender in this state will typically fetch very little, at most 40% of MSRP.
Price Factor 2: Variant
There are several MPA Defender variants. The most popular is perhaps the cheapest one, the 9mm MPA30T.
If you want to know how much yours is worth, we’ll cover the usual prices for each one below. Again, keep in mind that these price ranges are estimates and can change due to market trends.
MPA30T
The average MPA30T is usually worth $210 to $350.
This Defender is a 9 mm pistol that retails at $540. The top-cocking mechanism and lack of a sight mount differentiate it from the higher-end variants.
MPA30T-GR
The average MPA30T-GR is usually worth $230 to $370.
This is actually the same gun as the MPA30T, but with a cerakote Grim Reaper paint job. It retails at $568 and is less common than its non-cerakoted sibling.
MPA30SST
The average MPA30SST is usually worth $250 to $380.
This tier introduces the first side-cocking Defenders. It also adds a scope mount as well as aluminum machined parts to the design. This one retails for $609.
MPA30DMG
The average MPA30DMG is usually worth $300 to $430.
Based on the SST but equipped with a grip that accepts Glock 17 and 33 mags, it also adds a low-profile mag release, lower rail, and upgraded “Decal Grip” panels. It’s cerakoted black and ships with a special MPA polymer case. Retail pricing is $750.
MPA57DMG
The average MPA57DMG is usually worth $320 to $440.
This is the 5.7 version of the 30DMG, retailing for $750. It’s compatible with FN57 mags and is a side-cocking semi-auto with black cerakote finish and a 5” barrel.
Price Factor 3: Upgrades
Some upgrades to the MPA Defender can increase the gun’s value.
It’s always dependent on the buyer, of course, as well as the condition of the upgrades. Here are some examples of common value-adding MPA Defender accessories. Note that the estimates for value retention are for items in good condition!
H4: Brace
An MPA Defender brace can boost the gun’s stability, so it can be attractive to buyers. Folding braces are especially valuable. A3 Industries’ modular options retail from $199.95 to $249. 95, for instance.
Just keep in mind that some braces can turn the gun into an MPA Defender SBR (short-barreled rifle). That’s an NFA-regulated gun, which limits your buyer options.
You can take the pistol brace off to sell it as a handgun. However, if you still want to sell it as an SBR, try us – we’re licensed to buy NFA items.
Value retention of upgrade: Around 30% to 50%.
H4: Stock
The MPA Defender stock variants most often seen on the used market are MPA’s own. These retail for about $129.99.
Like the braces, these make the gun trickier to sell because they turn the gun into an SBR. In fact, this applies to all stocks despite not applying to all braces. Again, try us if you want to sell the gun with the stock, as we can legally buy that.
Value retention of upgrade: Around 30% to 50%.
H4: Drum
MasterPiece Arms itself makes the MPA Defender 9mm drum. With 50 rounds, it’s appealing for any buyer interested in the gun for extended range fun.
Value retention of upgrade: Around 20% to 40%.
H4: Spare Mags
An extra MPA Defender magazine or two can also sweeten the deal for your buyer. These go for $35.95 retail from MasterPiece Arms itself, but depending on your variant, other mags may fit.
Price per mag: Around $7-$10 for the MPA Defender 9mm magazine, $9-$12 for the 5.7mm.
