Looking for the value of an IWI Masada? Most owners of this striker-fired gun will tell you that it’s worth comes from its dependability. It may not be considered a display piece, but this firearm is less about aesthetics than performance.

The Masada is also in an already-saturated field of polymer pistols. Despite that, the gun has still found a space for itself. In this value guide, we’ll talk about how that happened and how much an IWI Masada is currently worth.

PS: If you're checking its value to sell your gun, ensure you follow federal rules. Read our guide on how to sell a gun online to stay 100% legal.

Current Market Value of a IWI Masada

While prices can vary, a typical IWI Masada is worth around $280, but the price range generally falls between $250 on the low end to as high as $325. If it is heavily upgraded, it may be worth even more.

All right, how much is a Masada 9mm worth?

A used IWI Masada is worth $200 to $350 in the preowned market, usually.

This can change due to different factors, but most of these guns sell for about $310. For comparison, the standard or full-sized IWI Masada has an MSRP of $480 ($450 for the Masada Slim).

How We Calculate Used IWI Masada Values

The price of a preowned IWI Masada is affected by its physical condition, the specific Masada model it is, and its upgrades or accessories.

Masada Condition Ratings

To establish the condition of a gun, you have to give it a close inspection. The possible condition ratings for IWI Masada pistols are below. We’ve also noted the values you can expect for them compared to MSRP when selling in the preowned market.

To see how we professionally evaluate your firearm (for free) and turn that condition into a payout, view our 3-step selling process for a guaranteed FFL offer.

Mint or New

A mint-condition IWI Masada has absolutely no deterioration or wear. It should have never been fired, though its mechanisms should be perfect.

Mint-condition guns are basically ones that spent their lives as display guns after purchase. You can charge near-MSRP or 10% below it for these even when preowned.

Excellent

An excellent-condition IWI Masada only shows signs of use after a long, hard look. That’s because it should have only been used a few times and locked away otherwise.

Given the perfect function and near-perfect looks, this gun can sell for about 20% less than MSRP.

Very Good

If your IWI Masada has been used on a sporadic basis, it’s probably in this condition. It should have light wear marks. They’re visible, but few.

These guns should still work perfectly too. You can charge around 30% less than MSRP.

Good

A good-condition gun has been used often and you can see it. Despite that, it should look and work like it’s been cleaned and maintained religiously too.

These guns are basically proven workhorses that can still give more to the next owner. The IWI Masada value here would be in the vicinity of 40% less than MSRP.

Fair

Fair-condition Masada pistols have been used often but not maintained properly. They have clear wear all over them and in a way that speaks to careless use by the owner.

While these should definitely still work, they can also have slight functional problems. People charge only half of MSRP for these, generally.

Poor

The poor-condition Masadas are the ones that look like they’ve been run over by a truck. Rust, scratches, dents, destroyed finishes… expect all that and more.

They also don’t work reliably any longer. In some cases, they may not even work at all. You’ll be lucky to get anything close to 50% of MSRP with these. Usually, it’s even below 40%.

How We Appraise Masada Models

Six different variants of the IWI Masada

There are three “base” Masada models. Each one has a standard variant and another variant equipped with night sights. Here are quick insights into pricing before we give you numbers:

  • The ones with night sights cost more as they come accessorized off the bat.
  • SLIMs also cost a little less because they’re smaller and require less material to make. They weigh about 2.1 oz less, are 1.15 in shorter, and are 0.28 in thinner than the Standard Masadas.
  • Tacticals are just the versions threaded for suppressors.

Anyway, here are the usual ranges for used IWI Masada prices, as well as their MSRPs (when new).

  • Price of Masada 9mm Parabellum - $200 to $350 used, MSRP of $480
  • Price of Masada 9mm Parabellum w/ Night Sights - $240 to $380 used, MSRP of $580
  • Price of Masada Tactical 9mm Parabellum - $200 to $350 used, MSRP of $480
  • Price of Masada Tactical 9mm Parabellum w/ Night Sights - $240 to $380 used, MSRP of $634
  • Price of Masada SLIM 9mm Parabellum - $200 to $320 used, MSRP of $450
  • Price of Masada SLIM 9mm Parabellum w/ Night Sights - $240 to $370 used, MSRP of $550

How Accessories Affect What We Pay for Your IWI Masada

Two IWI Masada's, one of them disassembled

On the whole, there aren’t too many upgrades or accessories that can come with a Masada. Depending on the condition of the upgrade, it may augment your used IWI Masada’s price.

Here are some common upgrades and accessories found on preowned ones. The estimated value retention when used is noted too.

Manticore Stainless Steel Guide Rod

This is a common upgrade replacing the stock polymer guide rod. It replaces it with something sturdier and stiffer, even mildly reducing recoil. It often sells new for around $25.

Value retention: 20% to 50% of original upgrade value

Threaded Barrel Upgrade

A lot of people convert the stock barrel to the threaded one for improved customization options. This generally sells new for about $174.

Value retention: 30% to 60% of original upgrade value

Added Optics

Aftermarket optics are fairly popular upgrades to pistols of this type for accuracy improvement. Better-quality, better-brand, and newer ones will keep their value better.

Common optics for this gun are the Sig Sauer ROMEO1 MRD ($399 new) and Leupold DeltaPoint Pro ($449 new). As you see, they’re the same optics often seen in P320 pistols.

Value retention: 40% to 65% of original upgrade value

General Questions & Answers

Finish doesn’t usually affect the value of an IWI Masada. There are also only three finishes possible for the gun in the US: black, FDE or flat dark earth, and green.  All three are easy enough to get. Take note that there’s an additional finish option (gray) outside of the US. It’s still not rare enough to merit a higher price than the others, though.

The IWI Masada SLIM costs $450 new, but you can often pick one up for $250 to $410 when buying used. IWI Masada SLIM price ranges do sometimes go above that on the used market, though. It may be because the gun is a popular purchase for people seeking smaller polymer pistols, and demand is occasionally higher than supply for it.

The IWI Masada is named after an ancient fortress. A stunning heritage site overlooking the Dead Sea, it was one of Herod the Great’s palaces. It was also occupied centuries ago by the survivors of the Jewish Revolt against the Romans. UNESCO describes it as a symbol of the struggle for liberty, which may explain IWI’s choice of name for the gun.

The IWI Masada is made in Israel. It’s made by Israel Weapon Industries and has been made there since 2017.

Whether a Masada or Glock 19 offers better value depends on the buyer’s needs. An IWI Masada is about $480 at retail while a Glock 19 is around $550. They’re very similar guns, however. The Masada is probably better for ambidextrous handling while the Glock has better accessory and upgrade options. Ergonomics are also slightly different between them, so it’s up to personal preference.

The IWI Masada is priced very attractively compared to other 9mm polymer pistols. At just $480 in retail, it’s often among the cheapest. Compare its retail price to the retail prices for the Glock 19 ($550), P320 ($550), CZ P-10 C ($499), and Springfield XD-M ($500-$600).
