The SIG MPX is a relative rarity among submachine guns or SMGs. Gas-operated and designed with a rotating bolt, it belongs to the same category as the B&T APC9.

This makes it stick out enough to be fairly popular. A modified version of it even appeared in John Wick 3! If you want to sell a SIG Sauer MPX, that’s good news for you.

As added good news, we can help you with that in this value guide, where we review how much is a SIG MPX worth today.

PS: If you're checking its value to sell your gun, ensure you follow federal rules. Read our guide on how to sell a gun online to stay 100% legal.

How We Calculate Used SIG Sauer MPX Values

SIG Sauer MPX value is affected by its condition, model, and accessories or upgrades.

Condition and Value

SIG Sauer MPX condition value

For a preowned SIG Sauer MPX to hit maximum value, it generally needs to be in great condition. Wear brings down a gun’s value.

You can have a firearm expert or appraiser inspect your gun to assign it a condition score. This often costs money. However, we offer free gun appraisal online if you’re selling to us.

To see how we professionally evaluate your firearm (for free) and turn that condition into a payout, view our 3-step selling process for a guaranteed FFL offer.

How We Appraise SIG MPX Models

SIG has made several versions of the MPX over the years. Here are some of the ones we see in resale.

SIG Sauer MPX 8” Value

SIG Sauer MPX 8" worth

The average used SIG Sauer MPX 8” is worth $700 to $1,700. A new SIG MPX 8” sells for $2,000.

The standard MPX has an 8” barrel, a collapsible stock, and 30-round capacity. It’s chambered for 9x19mm Parabellum, is select-fire, and is considered an NFA Class III item.

Note that there are complications that come with transferring Class III firearms. If you want to skip most of the hassle, consider selling your NFA item to us, as we make it simpler.

SIG Sauer MPX Pistol Value

SIG Sauer MPX pistol worth

The average used SIG Sauer MPX Pistol is worth $650 to $1,500. A new SIG MPX Pistol sells for $2,000.

This also has an 8” barrel but is a semi-automatic pistol variant typically found without a stock. Because it’s not an NFA firearm, it’s easier to sell than the select-fire version – and easier to find too.

SIG Sauer MPX-K Value

SIG Sauer MPX-K worth

The average used SIG Sauer MPX-K is worth $750 to $1,800. A new SIG MPX-K sells for $2,100 at retail.

This is the standard compact model with a 4.5” barrel. It comes in two versions: one with a collapsible arm brace and one without (but still capable of being fitted with one).

This is one of the most popular versions of the MPX, by the way, so it sells out fairly often at shops. That tells you that you have a good chance to sell your MPX easily if it’s this one.

SIG Sauer MPX Copperhead Value

SIG Sauer MPX Copperhead worth

The average used SIG Sauer MPX Copperhead is worth $700 to $1,500. A new SIG MPX Copperhead sells for $2,000 at retail.

An ultra-compact version of the MPX with a monolithic coyote tan Cerakoted upper receiver (although all-black versions have been made). This one has a barrel only 3.5” long, and is chambered for 9mm Luger.

You can get this version of the gun with or without a brace, like the other pistol models.

SIG Sauer MPX PCC Value

SIG Sauer MPX PCC worth

The average used SIG Sauer MPX PCC is worth $700 to $1,800. A new SIG MPX PCC is worth $2,100.

A semi-automatic pistol-caliber carbine version with a 16” barrel. It has a Timney trigger, slim M-LOK handguard, telescoping stock, and 3-chamber compensator.

The old version (MPX-C) differs from the modern one by having a 6.5” barrel with a 9.5” muzzle device permanently welded to it.

The old version is considered a Title II NFA weapon because of a muzzle device (which the BATFE deemed to be a suppressor). The modern version, the MPX PCC, lacks that device and is thus easier to transfer.

Taran Tactical SIG Sauer MPX PCC John Wick 3 Value

TTI SIG Sauer MPX PCC JW3 worth

The average used SIG Sauer MPX PCC is worth $1,600 to $4,000. A new TTI JW3 SIG MPX PCC is worth $4,500.

Technically, this is one of the Taran Tactical guns. Still, they do build on a SIG MPX PCC to make it, so we’ll count it here.

This heavily modified version of the MPX PCC was seen in the John Wick 3 film and comes with upgrades like the HIPERFIRE Eclipse tuned trigger, Lancer carbon fiber handguard, and Trijicon MRO. It also comes with Coyote bronze accents on the basepads, among others.

This is a model that holds value well. Because it’s a premium firearm in the line, we use a secure gun shipping and buying system to ensure every transaction is fully insured and legally compliant.

How Accessories Affect What We Pay for Your MPX

SIG Sauer MPX accessory values

Some accessories can boost the value of your preowned gun. They have to be in excellent condition, from popular manufacturers, and be appealing to the buyer, however.

This tells you that there will be times when your buyer won’t bite. Some buyers just don’t want accessories and are only interested in the gun itself.

If you’re struggling to sell your SIG MPX with its accessories, try us. We make offers for just about all firearm items, from accessories to ammo.

Original Box and Papers

The SIG Sauer MPX usually comes in a cardboard box with styrofoam inside. If yours is still pristine, you may be able to get something for it.

Value: Around $8 to $15 for the matching box and papers.

MPX PSB

The MPX PSB is the pistol-stabilizing brace you can fit onto the braceless MPX pistols (and some MCX ones, actually). If the gun you’re selling doesn’t have it attached yet, definitely try offering it as part of the kit. It often retails for $199 by itself.

Value: Around 30% to 50% of its original value.

Spare Magazines

Most people will appreciate these. SIG mags for the MPX do tend to be ridiculously expensive, though, so don’t be surprised if your buyer hesitates.

Value: Around $13 to $30 per SIG mag, less if from another manufacturer.

General Questions & Answers

Yes, in the United States and many other countries, civilians can purchase a SIG MPX as long as they comply with the applicable laws and regulations regarding firearms.

The SIG MPX can be configured as a Short-Barreled Rifle (SBR) if it has a barrel length less than 16 inches and meets the legal requirements for an SBR in the jurisdiction where it is owned.

The SIG MPX is a pistol caliber carbine (PCC) by design. However, it can be configured as an SBR or even as a pistol depending on the specific model and how it is configured by the owner.

The SIG MPX is not an AR (ArmaLite Rifle) platform, but it does share some similarities with the AR-15 in terms of its appearance and controls. It is a different firearm designed by SIG Sauer.

Some versions of the SIG MPX are available in a select-fire configuration, which allows for both semi-automatic and full-automatic firing modes. However, the availability of full-auto versions may be subject to strict legal regulations in some jurisdictions.

The SIG MPX is manufactured by SIG Sauer, a Swiss-German firearms company. It is produced in the United States at the SIG Sauer facility in New Hampshire.

The SIG MPX is often categorized as a submachine gun (SMG) because of its compact design and use of pistol caliber ammunition. However, its classification may vary depending on the specific configuration and legal definitions in different jurisdictions.

One interesting fact about the SIG Sauer MPX is its modular design, which allows for easy caliber conversion. Unlike many other firearms, the MPX can be adapted to shoot different calibers, such as 9mm, .357 SIG, and .40 S&W, simply by changing the barrel, bolt, and magazine.
