Value Factor 2: RPR Models or Variants
There are several versions of the RPR, often distinguished by what ammo they’re chambered for. There’s even a variant for .22 LR (the Ruger Precision Rimfire), but we’ll treat that as its own model.
Anyway, here are the models you’ll often see in resale.
Ruger Precision Rifle .308 Win Value

The average used Ruger Precision Rifle .308 is worth $520 to $1,300. A new RPR .308 Win sells for $1,750 at retail.
This is probably the most popular version of the RPR. You can sell a Ruger Precision Rifle 308 pretty fast, as a result. It’s typically found with a 20” barrel and is considered a classic for long-range shooting.
Ruger Precision Rifle 6.5 Creedmoor / PRC Value

The average used Ruger Precision Rifle 6.5 Creedmoor / PRC is worth $500 to $1,300. A new RPR .308 Win sells for $1,750 at retail.
This is almost the same gun as the RPR .308 Win! Ruger just makes versions chambered for 6.5 Creedmoor and 6.5 PRC too.
Most of their features are about the same, although the Creedmoor and PRC versions use a 1:8” RH twist instead of the .308 Win version’s 1:10” twist. They’re also more often found as 24” and 26” barrel variants.
Note that there’s a factory-upgraded version of the Creedmoor that can sell for $100 to $200 more. The most obvious differences between it and the standard version are the Magpul MOE-K2+ grip and TriggerTech Two-Stage trigger.
For comparison, the standard RPR 6.5 Creedmoor uses a Magpul MOE-K2-XL and Ruger Marksman Adjustable trigger instead.
Ruger Precision Rifle .300 Win Mag Value

The average used Ruger Precision Rifle .300 Win Mag is worth $575 to $1,400. A new RPR in these calibers sells for $2,299 at retail.
These versions of the RPR are more often found with a 26” barrel. Most versions in the resale market tend to be the black-finished ones. However, new production models are more often found with the smoked bronze Cerakote.
Ruger Precision Rifle .338 Lapua Mag Value

The average used Ruger Precision Rifle .338 Lapua Mag is worth $575 to $1,400. A new RPR 338 Lapua sells for $2,299 at retail.
This is more or less the same gun as the .300 Win Mag RPR. Same heavy contour at the barrel, same in-line recoil path. The only difference is the caliber!
Ruger Precision Rifle .300 PRC Value

The average used Ruger Precision Rifle .300 PRC is worth $575 to $1,400. A new RPR 300 PRC sells for $2,299 at retail.
Again, this is the same gun as the .300 Win and .338 Lapua Mag versions. It’s just chambered for .300 PRC this time.
Ruger Precision Rifle 6mm Creedmoor Value

The average used Ruger Precision Rifle 6mm Creedmoor is worth $625 to $1,500. A new RPR 6mm Creedmoor sells for $2,499 at retail.
This is very similar to the factory-upgraded version of the RPR 6.5 Creedmoor. It’s typically found with the 26” barrel, a 1:7” RH twist, and the TriggerTech Two-Stage trigger. It also has the Magpul MOE-K2+ grip.

Value Factor 3: Accessories or Upgrades

You may be able to boost the value of your Ruger Precision Rifle by selling it with certain accessories or upgrades. We say “may” because it’s not guaranteed.
The accessories or upgrades have to be in excellent condition and from popular brands, generally. Even then, you’re never sure if your buyer is going to want them.
If you’re struggling to sell your Ruger Precision Rifle with its accessories, contact us. We typically make offers for everything gun-related that sellers have to offer – even ammo!
Original Box and Papers
Some people may be willing to pay for a pristine box and complete papers. Try adding yours to the bundle if yours are in excellent condition.
Value: Around $10 to $30 for the matching box and papers.
Optics
Obviously appreciated in a gun like this! Don’t bother if your optic’s in horrible shape or isn’t something of good quality, though. You have a better chance to sell the scope with the gun if it’s something like a Vortex or Leupold.
Value: Around 30% to 50% of the accessory’s original value.
Aftermarket Bolt Handle
Great for ergonomics and convenience. Not all people may want these, though, as the stock configuration works well enough for most situations. Besides, these come in different shapes and sizes and there are individual preferences here too.
Value: Around 20% to 40% of the accessory’s original value.
