Shipping from your home is free, and you're paid the same day your gun arrives.

How It Works in Virginia
No Buyer to Find, No Dealer to Book
A private sale in Virginia has more steps than most people expect. You find a buyer, and you both go to a licensed dealer. The dealer runs the buyer through a State Police background check, and one of you pays the dealer's fee of up to $15. With us, there's no buyer to find and no dealer visit. Send us the details, and if our offer works for you, a prepaid label follows by email.
You Get a Real Offer, Not a Lowball
Every offer is built on what your specific gun sells for right now: make, model, condition and demand.
Virginia sellers usually get their offer in under 2 hours.
We Track the Changes
Virginia's gun laws changed a lot in 2026, and some of those changes are tied up in court. We're a federally licensed dealer with SOT status, which also lets us buy items like suppressors and machine guns. If something you own may be affected, we'll tell you whether we can buy it before you ship.
Sell From Home, Not I-95
No sitting in traffic to reach a dealer, and no trading messages with strangers. Tell us about your gun online. If you like the offer, we send the label.

However You Got Here, We Can Help
Just Selling One Gun?
In Virginia your options are a local shop, a pawn shop, a gun show, or a private sale that still runs through a dealer's background check. Or you sell to us. Real offer, free shipping, paid the same day your gun arrives. No haggling and no meetup.
Got Ammo, Optics, or a Whole Package?
We take the whole lot: firearms, ammo, optics, magazines, accessories, even the original boxes. Send it all, get one offer, done. (Ask us first about magazines over 15 rounds while Virginia's new law is in court.)
Need It Sold Fast?
When speed and certainty matter most, take our cash offer: one set number, a prepaid label, and you're paid the same day your gun arrives. You decide whether to take it.
Actually Prefer Consignment?
If you'd rather we sell your guns for you and go after the highest price, we do that too. We handle the listing, the photos, the buyers and the compliance, and we sell to buyers nationwide.
Sitting On a Collection?
In Virginia, almost every private sale means another background check, usually at a dealer. Selling 30 guns one at a time is a project. We can make one offer on the whole thing. Ten guns or two hundred, we have the money and the buyer network to make a serious offer. See how we buy entire gun collections.
Military Family? Got PCS Orders?
Virginia has a big military community. Hampton Roads alone has Naval Station Norfolk, NAS Oceana and Joint Base Langley-Eustis. There's also Marine Corps Base Quantico and Fort Belvoir in Northern Virginia, and Fort Lee near Petersburg. If you have orders and need to sell before a move, we'll make you a real offer, and you're paid the same day your gun arrives.
Inherited Guns or Settling an Estate?
Maybe you're not a gun person at all. You're a spouse, an adult child handling a parent's things, an executor, or an attorney with a firearm estate in Virginia on your desk. We walk you through it, appraise everything and handle the transfer on our end. Learn more about selling an inherited collection or estate.
Attorney, Estate Planner, or Dealer?
If firearms land on your desk regularly, from estate settlements to a store closing or extra inventory, we're a licensed partner you can send clients to. Full paperwork and clean records.
What We Buy
What Kinds of Guns Do You Buy?
Handguns, long guns, NFA items, antiques, ammo: our FFL with SOT status lets us legally buy a lot of what local Virginia shops can't. If something you own is caught up in the 2026 law changes, ask us first.

Handguns, Rifles & Shotguns

NFA Class III Items

Antiques & Collectibles

Black Powder & Muzzleloaders

Ammo & Accessories
Not Sure What You Have?
Send us photos and we'll tell you. Appraisal is free and there's no obligation to sell.
Get a free appraisal →NFA items (suppressors, short-barreled rifles and shotguns, machine guns) need ATF approval before they change hands, so they don't ship on our standard label. Call us first and we'll walk you through our process.

How Our Offer Compares to a Private Sale in Virginia
Want the highest possible price and have time to wait? Consignment through us may be your best option. In Virginia you line up a buyer, book the dealer check and cover a fee of up to $15, and if the buyer doesn't pass, there's no sale and you start over. Buyers also haggle with, stand up or walk away from a seller who has no reviews and can't run a card, so a private sale often ends up close to our offer, or below it. If you'd rather have a set number and be done, our cash offer is the faster path.

Virginia Rules
Virginia's Rules for Selling a Gun
Virginia requires a background check on almost every private gun sale, handguns and long guns alike. The seller can't just hand the gun over. A licensed dealer has to run the buyer through a Virginia State Police check first, or the State Police do it at a gun show. A court paused this rule for part of 2025 and 2026. Checks have been required again since July 1, 2026.
There's no waiting period in Virginia, no gun registration (machine guns aside) and no permit you need to sell. Buyers do have limits. Most can buy only one handgun every 30 days, and no one under 21 can buy a handgun or a gun Virginia classifies as an "assault firearm." And if your buyer lives in another state, federal law requires the sale to go through a licensed dealer.
In 2026, Virginia also passed a ban on selling many semi-automatic rifles, pistols and shotguns it calls "assault firearms," plus magazines that hold more than 15 rounds. It took effect July 1, 2026, but courts have blocked the State from enforcing it while the legal challenges wait on the U.S. Supreme Court. The law hasn't been struck down, so this could change. If you have one of these guns or magazines, ask us before you ship.
Selling to us works differently. We're the licensed dealer, so you don't have to find a buyer or meet anyone at a local dealer. We handle the transfer on our end and keep up with Virginia's rules as they change.

Private Sales
Need a background check through a licensed dealer, or the State Police at a gun show. Required again since July 1, 2026.
No Wait, No Registry
Virginia has no waiting period and doesn't register guns, other than machine guns. You don't need a permit to sell.
Buyer Limits
One handgun per 30 days for most buyers. No handgun or "assault firearm" sales to anyone under 21.
2026 "Assault Firearm" and Magazine Law
In the Code since July 1, 2026, blocked by the courts for now. Ask us before you ship one.
Never Ship These
Selling or owning an unregistered auto sear or a bump-stock-type trigger activator (parts that make a gun fire more than one shot per trigger pull) is a felony in Virginia. Don't ship one to anyone. Not sure what a part is? Send us a photo first.
Selling to Us
You ship to a licensed dealer, and we track the 2026 changes.
Virginia's gun laws are still moving, so treat this as a plain-language snapshot from October 2026 rather than legal advice. Your own situation is a question for a Virginia lawyer. Selling to us is a question for our team.

Frequently Asked Questions
What Virginia sellers ask before they ship us a firearm.
In Virginia you can sell to a local shop, or sell privately through a dealer's background check. Or you can sell to us from home. Fill out our short form with a few photos, and you'll get a real offer back. If you accept, a prepaid, insured label arrives by email. You're paid the same day your gun arrives at our licensed HQ in Jacksonville, Florida.
Yes. Virginia requires a background check on almost every private sale, run through a licensed dealer or the State Police at a gun show. A court paused the rule for part of 2025 and 2026, but checks have been required again since July 1, 2026. When you sell to us, you don't have to find a buyer or book a dealer appointment. If your sale needs anything extra under Virginia law, we'll tell you before you ship.
No. Virginia has no waiting period. Lawmakers have tried to add one in recent years, but none has become law.
Craigslist doesn't allow gun listings. If you find a buyer another way, Virginia requires the sale to go through a background check, usually at a licensed dealer. If the buyer lives in another state, federal law bars you from selling to them directly, and the gun has to go through a licensed dealer. Selling to us lets you sell online without meeting anyone.
Ask us first. Virginia's 2026 law bans selling many semi-automatic rifles, pistols and shotguns it defines as "assault firearms," plus magazines that hold more than 15 rounds. The law hasn't been struck down, but courts have blocked the State from enforcing it while the challenges wait on the U.S. Supreme Court. That could change, so tell us what you have before you ship, and we'll tell you whether we can buy it right now.
Your local choices are gun shops, pawn shops and gun shows. You can also sell to a private buyer, but in Virginia you'll usually both need to meet at a licensed dealer for the buyer's background check. We buy from anywhere in the state, Fairfax to Bristol, and you're paid the same day your gun arrives.
Usually about 2 to 3 business days from most of Virginia to our Jacksonville HQ. The shipping table above breaks it down by region, from Hampton Roads to Southwest Virginia. You don't pay for shipping, and the package is insured.
Yes, even if you've never sold a gun before. Photos or a simple list of what's there are enough for us to appraise the estate and make a single offer. If it includes semi-automatic rifles, pistols or shotguns, or magazines over 15 rounds, tell us first so we can check them against Virginia's 2026 law before anything ships.
