What Affects the Glock 21 Value?
The value of a Glock 21 is affected by its condition, variant, generation, and accessories.
Value Factor 1: Condition

A Glock 21 will nearly always be worth more if it’s in good condition. If you don’t know what grade yours falls into, get a professional appraisal.
Some services charge for this, but we do it for free and online. If you’re already aware of what your gun’s condition is, though, you can just use the guide below.
Like-New or Mint
A new or mint G21 has seen zero use. It has no marks and is in perfect condition. It has the highest value for preowned guns.
Excellent
An excellent-condition handgun is one with so few marks that you have to really inspect it to find them. It's worth up to 10% less of mint.
Very Good
This is a lightly used pistol with some noticeable wear or use marks, but not serious ones. It's worth up to 120% less of mint.
Good
A good-condition G21 has been used a lot but not abused. If it’s been maintained and cared for well enough, it's worth up to 30% less of mint.
Fair
This is a gun that’s been used a lot and never really cared for. If it’s banged up and wasn’t maintained well, the most you can get for it is up to 40% less of mint.
Poor
This is a gun with serious problems: rust, deep scratches, dents, perhaps even non-working parts. You’ll be lucky to get 50% of mint value.
Value Factor 2: Variant

There are three variants of the G21: the standard, the SF or short-frame, and the MOS.
Glock 21 Standard Value
The average used Glock 21 Standard is worth $150 to $380. A new G21 Standard sells for $550 at retail.
The standard G21 is the base version of the gun. You get a 13-round mag, a reversible magazine catch for ambidextrous use, and a 4.61-inch barrel.
Glock 21 SF or Short-Frame Value
The average used Glock 21SF is worth $150 to $380. A new G21 SF sells for $550 at retail.
This is the reduced-circumference version of the G21. You basically get the same features otherwise – same mag capacity, barrel length, etc. – but in a smaller gun that’s easier to control. That’s why they sell for much the same, used and new.
Glock 21 MOS Value
The average used Glock 21 MOS is worth $300 to $550. A new G21 MOS sells for $700 at retail.
MOS stands for Modular Optic System, which means this is the version of the G21 designed to make mounting optics easy. The other two versions aren’t optics-ready, which explains why this commands a higher value.
Value Factor 3: Generation

There are four possible Glock generations for the G21: 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th Gen.
Glock 21 Gen 2
The average used Glock 21 Gen 2 is worth $150 to $300.
This is the earliest version, identifiable from its flat front strap and lack of an accessory rail. This version also lacks thumb rests and uses the subtle pebble texture on its grip panels. It’s no longer in production.
Glock 21 Gen 3
The average used Glock 21 Gen 3 is worth $180 to $400.
G21 Gen3 guns were made from around 1995 to 2010 and add the accessory rail, finger grooves in the front strap, and thumb rests. They can also come in the RTF or rough-textured finish for the grip panels.
Glock 21 Gen 4
The average used Glock 21 Gen 4 is worth $200 to $500.
Gen 4 G21s started being manufactured in 2010 and offer added backstraps. The easiest way to tell them apart from earlier generations is the slide, which has “Gen 4” on it.
Glock 21 Gen 5
The average used Glock 21 Gen 5 is worth $200 to $550.
Gen 5 G21s have a telltale stamp on the slide, like the Gen 4s. They have other differences, like no finger grooves, more ambidextrous features, and MOS versions (which are worth the most).
Value Factor 3: Accessories

Some things can bring up the price of your Glock pistol. Here are the ones most people will be interested in and how much you may be able to sell them for.
Extra Magazines
Glocks are shooters, first and foremost. More mags are always popular, so don’t hesitate to throw them into your package if you can.
Value: Around $10 per mag
Weapon Light
Weapon lights are among the more useful accessories for this gun, but only the good ones from known brands will generally add value. If yours is something like a TRL-1 HL ($170 retail) or a Surefire X300 ($370 retail), it’s worth adding.
Value: Around 30% to 50% of retail
Optics
This is obviously only useful if your G21 is an MOS version or one you’ve had modified for optics mounting. If it is, you can often sell an optic with it. Just keep in mind that most people won’t care for it unless it’s from known brands like Holosun.
Value: Around 30% to 50% of retail
