Florida does not require a bill of sale for gun transfers. However, people buying guns from licensed dealers still need to fill out Form 4473.
For private or non-dealer sales, neither Form 4473 nor a firearm bill of sale is needed. Despite that, some people still use the latter. This is to err on the side of safety when they sell a gun in Florida.
If you want to do the same, feel free to use the forms below.

The Required Forms for Gun Sales
1. Form 4473
Form 4473 is a federally required form for people buying from licensed dealers. It also starts the Florida background check process for those buyers when submitted.
Your dealer will typically provide the form to you during your purchase. You can download and fill it out ahead of time from here too.
2. Florida Firearm Bill of Sale
While not mandatory, a bill of sale can provide legal proof of the transfer of ownership in a gun sale. By recording the transaction, it offers buyers and sellers some protection from liability.
Firearm bills of sale are often used as references for buyers or sellers in case of later disputes. They’re also generally stored with a photo or copy of the IDs of the parties involved.
